A 20-year-old North Carolina State student obtained a settlement of $900,000.00 from the automobile liability insurance carrier for a negligent driver. This negligent driver had recently been released from Dorthea Dix Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina and had stopped taking his medication.

The injured victim was an honor student, active in charitable organizations and in student government.

The victim suffered jaw and skull fractures. This led to temporary double vision and a mild traumatic brain injury which resulted in reduced cognitives.

She had frequent debilitating headaches.

In spite of all these injuries she continued to be an honor roll student and graduated with honors. She is now in graduate school pursuing a Masters degree.
