In the wake of the recall of diabetes test strips made by Bayer that were defective, here's another warning for those suffering from the disabling condition of diabetes. LifeScan Inc., another manufacturer of blood glucose testing strips, has made an announcement regarding the voluntary recall of its product after complaints from customers of readings that were inaccurate.

The recall by LifeScan, a part of global healthcare chain Johnson & Johnson, is actually for a lot of its strip product that was sold in the nation of India not meeting the prescribed standards of quality, resulting in the company pulling it off the market. However, that does not mean that American consumers should not be any less aware of potential problems.

According to the company, it is also conducting a campaign to spread awareness among users, healthcare professionals, retailers, pharmacies, and distributors of the defective lot.

The company maintains that the majority of strips in the lot produce results that were accurate; however they are still voluntarily recalling the entire lot of strips in order to ensure the safety of those suffering from diabetes.

However, the company did not provide an exact size of its lot in the notice it released to the public.
