Mattel has recalled 83 defective toys that have been painted with dangerous led paint.. Mattle's Fisher-Price line imported these defective products from China.

The recalled toys include the popular Big Bird, Elmo, Dora and Diego characters. The recall involves 967,000 plastic toys for preschool-age children, made by a Chinese vendor and sold in the United States from May to August.

Led paint is extremely dangerous to children and can cause serious mental defects when ingested even in small quantities.

This latest scare is the most recent of many revelations of defective products and contaminated food imposed upon the American people by China. The Chinese people are used to being exposed to dangerous and defective products. There are no effective laws in China to protect the people form dangerous products, and they think nothing about flogging off these dangerous products upon the American people when they can get away with it.

Those who would favor so called "tort reform" which would severely reduce the protection from defective products should ask themselves if they would like to trade places with a those in China who have no such protection.

Fortunately, regulators are becoming more diligent about policing what comes into the United States. However these defective products were here for months before the defective toys were discovered.

North Carolina has good laws to protect us from defective products. If you would like to speak with an experienced defective products lawyer fill out the form on this page.
